Biography

Dave Lewis lectures IT & Photography in his hometown of Pontypridd. He also designs web sites, is a keen photographer and writer. He has always lived in Wales except for a short spell in Kenya in 1993-94 but enjoys travelling to different parts of the world.

He has had a varied existence to date, and worked as a builders labourer, plastic engineer, financial advisor, zoologist, photographer, doorman, actor (one Bollywood film!), schoolteacher, software engineer, BBC website producer, librarian, cyber cafe manager and local newspaper columnist - almost enough for a book one might say!

He has never given up dreaming of being a billionaire philanthropic rock god, not even when his first offspring came along, but may have to settle for an easier life writing poems in the woods.

More

Dave has travelled to many countries and has taken lots of photographs whilst on his travels.

In 2005 he cycled from Lands End to John O'Groats and is a keen walker and has helped lead a school expedition to Ecuador. He is always looking to do something a bit different.

He is organiser of the Welsh Poetry Competition and lives in Pontypridd.

He published his first book of poetry - Layer Cake,  spanning the previous 24 years in 2009 and his second book Urban Birdsong, a short story, prose and poetry collection in 2010.

He is currently working on a number of new projects - combining poetry and photography.

After all, life is short and time is elastic.
